Lucille M. (Mrs. Charles) Evenson, age 97, of Lake Crystal, died Saturday, December 10, 2005 at the Lake Crystal Health Care Center.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 17, 2005 at Zion Lutheran Church in Lake Crystal, with Rev. Nancy Dreier officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Madelia. Arrangements are with Lake Crystal Mortuary.
Lucille Mercedes Evenson was born on May 15, 1908 in Stephenson, Michigan. She was the daughter of Thomas and Christine (Miller) Nelson. Lucille attended Evergreen School in Menominee, Michigan. She moved to Minnesota in 1923. Lucille was united in marriage to Charles Evenson on January 26, 1927 in Garden City. She was a homemaker for her family and a lifelong resident of the Lake Crystal area. Lucille was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Lake Crystal.
Lucille is survived by her two daughters, Mercedes Chamberlen of North Mankato, and Barbara (Larry) Dermody of Las Vegas, NV; five grandchildren, Laura (Corey) Wilson, Major Thomas (Wendy) Dermody, USAF, Lt. Commander David James (Jennifer) Dermody, USN, Michael (Rosalyn) Chamberlen, and Kevin Lee Blackstad; thirteen great-grandchildren.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Evenson on February 11, 1991; son, Charles Lee Evenson in August 1962; grandson, Bryan Scott Blackstad; three brothers, Bitte Soren Nelson, Soren Nelson, and Christian Nelson; four sisters, Bertha, Dorothy, Anna, and Ida Nelson; and son-in-law, Norman Chamberlen.
