Connie Holst

Connie Marie Holst, age 45 of Mankato, died Sunday, December 11, 2005 at her home following a brave and courageous battle with cancer.

Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Mankato with Pastor John Petersen and Pastor Daphne Hamborg officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Hutchinson at a later date. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the donors choice.

Connie was born February 12, 1960 to Omar and Edith (Holm) Peterson in Hutchinson, MN. She was confirmed at Faith Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. Connie was a 1978 graduate of Hutchinson High School and was active in FFA and 4 - H. In 1981 she moved to Mankato and was employed by Culligan Soft Water in Mankato. She was united in marriage to Brian Holst on August 8, 1981 in Hutchinson. They later divorced. Connie volunteered her time with Habitat for Humanity. She was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Mankato, where she was the chair of Church in Society Board.

Connie enjoyed photography, scrap-booking, and spending time with family.

She is survived by one son, Barry Holst of Mankato; one daughter, Cayla Holst of Mankato; granddog, Missy; parents, Omar and Edith of rural Glencoe; four sisters, Kathryn (James) Stueber of rural Cosmos, Pamela (Steven) Greenwalt of Glencoe, Susan Peterson of rural Glencoe, Naomi (Erik) Nord of Hutchinson; many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents; two aunts, Evelyn and Loretta; and her beloved dog, Angel.
