Rosella I Riewe

Rosella Ida Riewe, age 79, of Winnebago, and formerly of Lake Crystal, died Friday, November 25, 2005 at United Hospital in Blue Earth.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake Crystal, with Rev. John Bennett officiating. Burial will be in Willow Creek North Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., Monday at Lake Crystal Mortuary and continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Rosella was born January 2, 1926 in Shelby Township, Blue Earth County. She was the daughter of Herman and Johannah (Wilke) Reinke. Rosella was united in marriage to Elmer M. Riewe on November 18, 1945 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Willow Creek. She was a homemaker and assisted Elmer with the family farm. Rosella also was a Stanley Distributor for many years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake Crystal and also the Neighborhood Birthday Club. Rosella loved cooking and spending time with family and friends.

Rosella is survived by her five children and their spouses, Diane (Dale) Thies of Lees Summit, MO, Roger (Julaine) Riewe of Amboy, Darwin (Carol) Riewe of Huntley, Doug (Cindy) Riewe of Lake Crystal, and Kevin (Elizabeth) Riewe of Mankato; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one brother, Wilmar (Evelyn) Reinke of Mapleton; also nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer in 1989; one son, Leslie; one grandson, Rodney; one brother, Alvin; and one sister, Hildegard Johnson.
