Rachel Martha Salomonson, age 19, of Mankato and formerly of Grayslake, IL died Tuesday, November 15, 2005 as the result of an automobile accident.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday at Messiah Lutheran Church in North Mankato with Rev. James Ahlquist, officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Mankato. Visitation will be held from 5 " 7 p.m., Friday at Mankato Mortuary. Visitation continues one hour before services at the church on Saturday. Memorials may be given to the donors choice.
Rachel was born May 2, 1986 to Dennis and Toni Ann (Nesheim) Salomonson in Mankato. She graduated from Grayslake Community High School, Grayslake, IL in 2004. She was currently attending Minnesota State University, Mankato pursuing an Art Major degree. She was employed by Patricks On 3rd in St. Peter and previously with Carlson Craft in North Mankato.
She loved animals especially her cat, Sancho and her dog, Lucy. Rachel was a creative, artistic young woman who enjoyed music and socializing with her many friends.
Rachel is survived by her parents, Dennis Salomonson and Toni Ann Nesheim; brother, Rhys Salomonson all of Grayslake, IL; maternal grandmother, Sylvia Nesheim of North Mankato; uncles and aunts, Lucian Salomonson and Jan Meier of North Mankato, Susan and Dwight Allbee of Waverly, IA, Steven Nesheim of Mankato, John and Marie Nesheim of Shanghai, China, David Nesheim of North Mankato; and many cousins.
Rachel was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Reed and Mildred Salomonson and maternal grandfather, Glen Nesheim.
