Mary L. Miller, age 67, of Delta, CO died Thursday, November 10, 2005 at Delta County Memorial Hospital, Delta.
Funeral service 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 23, 2005 at the First Presbyterian Church in Lake Crystal with Rev. Randal Lubbers, officiating. Visitation one hour before service at church on Wednesday. Interment in Holy Family Cemetery, Lake Crystal. Services were also held at Mesa View Mortuary-Cemetery, Delta, CO. Lake Crystal Mortuary in charge of local arrangements.
Mary was born August 11, 1938 in Mankato to William and Adeline (Phillips) Milller. Mary graduated from Lake Crystal High School in 1956. She received her Associate Degree from Mankato Commercial College, Mankato. She lived in San Francisco prior to moving to Denver where she met Jerold Trupp. They were married in Chicago, Ill on December 19, 1964. After daughter Terre was born, they moved back to Denver and eventually settled in Delta, CO in 1972. They were divorced in 1985. She had recently retired from Delta Montrose Rural Electric Association after 22 years as a Management Information Coordinator.
Mary enjoyed gardening, reading, and working around her home. She had many hidden talents such as her poetry writing. Mary was a published poet and was presented an Editors Choice Award by the National Library of Poetry in 1993. Her poem was entitled Life Anew . Those who knew Mary would describe her as a dedicated mother, sister, and friend. She was always generous with her time and resources to friends and family in need. In addition, she spent a great deal of time researching nutrition and during her spare time she enjoyed interior and fashion design. She was a member of Bridge Club, PEO Chapter GT, Eastern Star, and the Historical Society.
Mary is survived by a daughter, Terre Trupp of Endwell, NY; sister, Joni Roberts; two brothers, Mark Miller, Ron (Martha) Miller all of Lake Crystal; nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Misty Trupp; and three brothers, William T., Virgil H., and Glenn R. Miller.
