James Arthur Gullickson, age 49 of New Prague died October 31, 2005 at his home.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Mankato Mortuary, with Chaplain Gary Creech officiating. Visitation will be from 12 noon until the time of service. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Mankato.
James Arthur Gullickson was born March 26, 1956 in Tracy to Arthur and Eleanor (Mason) Gullickson. As a teen, he moved to Mankato, where he attended both East and West High Schools. After graduating from Mankato East High School in 1974, he entered the United States Marines. He served his country for 4 years and was stationed mostly in Maryland. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Mankato. He attended and graduated from Mankato State with an engineering Bachelor of Science degree. On August 13, 1983, he married Sarah Ireland in St. Clair. They had resided in Amboy before moving to Albuquerque, New Mexico. While there, they had a daughter, Laura. James and Sarah were later divorced. James continued to live and work in New Mexico. He later married and was most recently living in New Prague, owning his own internet import business, Japanese Styles, Inc. James enjoyed reading, photography, computers, electronics and visiting and spending time with his family, especially his mother, sister and brother-in-law.
James is survived by his daughter, Laura Gullickson of Mankato; mother, Eleanor Gullickson of Tracy; sister, Linda Williams and her husband, Darrell of Balaton; niece, Dawn Robben-Hutson of Waldorf, Maryland. James was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
