Hazel Evelyn Wigley, age 89, of rural Lake Crystal, died Tuesday, November 1, 2005 at Immanuel-St. Joseph Hospital in Mankato.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Lake Crystal with Pastor Dale Hutchcraft officiating. Burial will be in Minneopa Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday at Lake Crystal Mortuary and one hour before services at the church on Saturday.
Hazel was born March 22, 1916 in rural Lake Crystal to Charles and Fena (Ahlstrom) Swanson. Hazel was a domestic for six years. On August 25, 1936, she was united in marriage to Ellsworth Wigley in Sioux Falls, SD. Hazel was a homemaker for her family, helped her husband on the farm and worked as a nurse for 20 years at Hillcrest Health Care Center. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Lake Crystal. She enjoyed her family and her friends, her home on the farm, Christian music, and listening to sermons.
Survivors include her son, Raymond Wigley and his wife, Joyce of rural Lake Crystal; two grandchildren, Sarah Riess and her husband, Todd of Fairmont, Curtis Wigley of rural Lake Crystal; sister, Vivian Wilkinson of Shakopee; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many good friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers, and two sisters.
