Raymond Frederick Ulrich, age 94, of rural Lake Crystal, died Sunday, January 2, 2011 at Immanuel Saint Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Rapidan. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, January 4, at Mankato Mortuary and continue one hour prior to service at the church. Burial will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park, Mankato.

Raymond was born December 12, 1916 to Fredrick and Dora (Moyer) Ulrich in rural Blue Earth County, Minnesota. He graduated from high-school in Rapidan. He had an adult baptism on November 17, 1940 at St. Paul's Church in North Mankato by Rev. Haase. Raymond was united in marriage to Irma Louise Preuss by Rev. Mock at St. John's Lutheran Church in Rapidan on January 30, 1941. He enjoyed riding his lawn tractor, gardening, canning, mowing, and working on things around the farm. Raymond was driven by perfection and had many great talents including carpentry and mechanics.

Raymond is survived by his daughters, Donna (Joel) Schultz of Mankato and Bette (Bob) Schmidt of Coralville, IA; grandchildren, Susan Schultz, Julie Schultz and special friend Terry Gilman, Lisa (Richard) Simmons, David (Beth) Schmidt, Alan (Cheri) Schmidt, Michael Schmidt, Jason (Laura) Schmidt, Kari Schmidt, Corey (Kelli) Schmidt, Andrew Schmidt, Darin Schmidt and ten great-grandchildren.

Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, Irma; parents, Fred and Dora; infant son, Mark; two infant grandchildren and his brother, Wayne Ulrich.
