Gladys Pauline Poplow, age 93, of Butterfield, died Friday, December 31, 2010 at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Nursing Home in St. James.

A Memorial Service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of St. James, MN, in late spring 2011. Mankato Mortuary assisted with arrangements.

Gladys was born September 29, 1917 to Arthur and Winnifred (Sewell) Weckwerth in Waseca, MN. She attended country school near Waseca. Gladys was united in marriage to Lloyd Poplow on December 15, 1936. She was a homemaker for her family and also owned and operated a restaurant in Butterfield. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, St. James and the VFW Auxiliary. Gladys enjoyed fishing, camping, reading, and cooking.

Gladys is survived by two daughters, Myra Connolley of Richland, WA and Jane Perfetti of Bloomington; two sons, David Poplow and Steve Poplow, both of Butterfield; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lloyd in 1999; grandson, Scott; and two brothers, John and Douglas.
