Ella Grace Weerts, age 90, of Mankato, died on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Oak Terrace Autumn Lane in North Mankato.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 6 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dawn Carder officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 5 from 4-7 at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Sterling Cemetery in Sterling Township. Memorials are preferred to Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospice or the Alzheimer's Association.

Ella was born on February 12, 1920 by Lura Lake to John and Inez (Lamp) Covey. She married Gerald Weerts on May 30, 1942. They had three children, Pamela, Kenneth, and Charles. Ella was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Mankato. She enjoyed crafting, spending time with family, and traveling with Gerald.

She is survived by her children: Pamela (Gary) Lundin of Mankato, Kenneth of Mankato, and Charles (Delrae) of Webster, MN; grandchildren: Jennifer, Stephanie, Jessica, Megan, Matthew, Alexander, Colin, and Kyle; great-grandchildren: Travis, Kimberly, Madeline, Anthony, Rebecca, and Willow; two sisters: Mary Jahnz of Amboy and Mildred (Rueben) Hill of Forest Lake; sisters-in-law: Mary Ann Norman of Tucson, AZ and Joyce Farnsworth of Tulsa, OK; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and three brothers, Charles, George, and Richard.
