Elda Blanche Ogren, age 100, of Lake Crystal, died Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 20, 2008 at the Church of Christ, Mankato with Ron Maynard officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Friday at Lake Crystal Mortuary and will continue one hour before service at church on Saturday.
A second service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 22, 2008 at the Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home, Jefferson, Iowa with visitation one hour before service. Burial will be in Wright Cemetery, rural Jefferson, Iowa.
Elda was born November 2, 1908 to George Henry and Elsie (McClurg) Hartwigsen in Carroll County, Iowa. She graduated from Jefferson High School, Jefferson, Iowa. Elda was united in marriage to Albert J. Ogren on February 21, 1931 at the Church of Christ in Jefferson, Iowa. Albert died on November 13, 1989. Elda was a homemaker for her family. She was a member of the Church of Christ, Mankato and Laugh and Learn Extension Club of rural Lake Crystal for many years. She enjoyed crocheting afghans for her whole family, quilting, embroidery, and handwork.
Elda is survived by five children, Al (Dale) Ogren of Buhl, MN, Eldon (Faye) Ogren of Lawrenceville, GA, Elizabeth (Duane) Stinchfield of Chisholm, MN, Eleanor (Roger) Anderson of Lake Crystal, Dick (Mary) Ogren of Ashby, NE; twenty grandchildren, forty nine great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Wyona Zachow of Elk Point, SD, Inez (Raymond) Maile of Vinton, IA; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Elda was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Judy Greger and husband, Elden; four sisters, Vera, Edna, Thelma, and Ruth; three brothers, Ira, Vern, and Ray; four great-grandchildren.
