Mathew C Smith

Mathew C. Smith, age 97, of North Mankato, died Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 13, 2008 at Belgrade United Methodist Church in North Mankato with Bart Fletcher officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, December 12, 2008 at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Burial will be held at Kern's Oak Grove Cemetery in rural North Mankato, MN.

Mathew Charles was born September 13, 1911 to Charles and Ruth (Rash) Smith in Nicollet County. On September 27, 1950, he was united in marriage to Alice Combs in Kasota, MN. Mathew was a farmer and a member of the Belgrade United Methodist Church. He loved antiques, traveling, and truck gardening.

Mathew is survived by his caregivers, Charles and Sally Ann Smith and Dianne and Dale Phillips, and nephews and nieces.
