Wilton A. Urban, age 83, of Willow Creek, rural Amboy, died Sunday, December 7, 2008 at his residence.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 11, 2008 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Willow Creek, with Rev. John Bennett officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran North Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. on Wednesday at Lake Crystal Mortuary, and continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
Wilton was born on September 27, 1925 to Arthur and Lillie (Riewe) Urban in Pleasant Mound Township, Blue Earth County. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Willow Creek. Wilton was united in marriage to Mildred Bergemann on October 2, 1949 in Willow Creek, where they made their home. He farmed all his life in Pleasant Mound and Ceresco Townships. Wilton was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Willow Creek, where he participated in the men's club and served on the finance committee for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Wilton also enjoyed farming, gardening, woodworking, going to Maple River Eagles softball games, and polka music.
Wilton is survived by his three daughters, Marilyn (David) Northamer of Mankato, Linda (Lee) Hiller of Good Thunder, and Jan (John) FitzSimmons of Good Thunder; grandchildren, Jennifer (Dan) Berkner, Jody (Dave) Trio, Jill (Ryan) Thomas, Juliann FitzSimmons, Jesse (Molly) Hiller, Jeff Hiller, Dave (Kathy) Northamer, Shannon Northamer, and Jim Northamer; twelve great-grandchildren; sister, Doris (Veril) Conrad of Vernon Center; sister-in-law, Alice (Bill) Schwardt of Madelia; brother-in-law, Waldo (Nadene) Bergemann of Madison Lake; also nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mildred in 2002.
