Minnie Foster Voth, age 100, of Mankato, died Thursday, December 4, 2008 at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato, surrounded by her family. She had been residing at Mankato House for the past five months.
A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 10, 2008 at Mankato Mortuary Chapel in Mankato. Public visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. before the service and lunch will follow the service at Mankato Mortuary.
Minnie was born October 18, 1908 to Thomas and Martha (Layton) Beck in Larchwood, IA. She was the oldest member of Christ the King Lutheran Church. Minnie loved to play her organ and knitted many slippers and scarves for her family. She crocheted dozens of doilies and cross-stitched kitchen towel sets for all the members of her family. Minnie enjoyed reading her books and watching and giving advice to the MN Timberwolves and their coaches. Minnie loved flowers and over the years had beautiful gardens each summer and many plants in her home.
She is survived by her children, Marguerite Johnson of St. James, Harvey (Ileane) Voth of St. James, Ronald (Averil) Voth of Madison Lake; seven grandchildren, Mary Feder, Bruce Johnson, Steve Voth, Randy Voth, Bryan Voth, Gerry Voth, Craig Voth, Kristi Voth; eleven great-grandchildren; seventeen great-great-grandchildren, and sister-in-law, Francis Beck of St. James.
