Francys May Wigley, age 88, died December 4, 2008 at her home in rural Lake Crystal.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, December 8, 2008 at the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Crystal with Rev. Randal Lubbers officiating. Burial will be in Minneopa Cemetery, rural Mankato. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Lake Crystal Mortuary and will continue one hour before service at the church on Monday.

Francys was born May 31, 1920 to Walter and Blanche (Cleveland) Othoudt in Lake Crystal. She was a graduate of Lake Crystal High School in 1937 and attended Mankato Commercial College. She was united in marriage to Richard Wigley on March 22, 1940 and they lived on the same farm in Judson Township all of their married life. Together, they had three children. Francys was active in the Farm Bureau, 4-H, Extension, school and community activities and the Carmel Presbyterian Church and after it closed she joined the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Crystal. She was active in the Mrs. Jaycees of Mankato and was a member of YWCA. Francys was a lifelong member of the Blue Earth County Historical Society and spent many years in politics with her husband, Representative Richard Wigley. She held offices in the Dome Club and Rotunda Club in St. Paul as well.

Francys enjoyed gardening, flowers, photography and politics, but her foremost interest and greater love was her family and home.

She is survived by her two sons; Owen of Lake Crystal, Paul and wife, Becky of Lakeville; one granddaughter, Sarah Francys Wigley and fianc", Matt Johnson; one sister, Geraldine Johnson of Mankato; one brother-in-law, Edward Wigley and wife, Gertrude of Mankato; one sister-in-law, Miriam Jones and husband, Herb of Lake Crystal; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Francys is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Vicki; husband, Richard in 1998, one brother , Wayne (Alva) Othoudt; three sisters, Cecile (Robert) Grise, Jean (Andrew) Severson, and Mildred (John) Griffith; brother-in-law, Robert Johnson.
