James B Engelen

James Engelen, age 71, of Mankato, died December 2, 2008.

A private family service will be held at Mankato Mortuary in Mankato. Public visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Sunday, December 7, 2008 at Mankato Mortuary.

Jim was born September 7, 1937 to Albert and Fenna (Freiborg) Engelen in Mankato, MN. He attended Mankato High School and was a member of Church of Christ. Jim was united in marriage to Deloris (Patterson) on November 28, 1959 in Arlington. He was a retired member of the Mankato Police Department. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was an avid outdoorsman. He also enjoyed computers, operating a HAM radio and was a Harley Davidson enthusiast.

He is survived by his wife; five children, Mark (Laurel) Engelen of Good Thunder, David (Penny) Engelen of Mankato, Bruce Engelen and Heather Rhors of Mankato, Tom (Sandie) Engelen of Mankato,
Scott (Jan) Engelen of Mankato; six grandchildren, Rebecca, Alisha, Tommy, Jeremy, Leah, Payton; three step-grandchildren, Katie, Angie, Victoria; two great-grandchildren, James and Justin; one nephew, Sean Mount of Lakewood, WA.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
