Mabel N Finstrom

Mabel Nellie Finstrom, age 97, of Lake Crystal, passed peacefully Thursday, November 6, 2008 at Hillcrest Health Care Center in Mankato.

A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 15, 2008 at First United Methodist Church in Lake Crystal, with Rev. Debbie King-Quale officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in Lake Crystal Cemetery. Lake Crystal Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.

Mabel was born December 8, 1910 in Randolph, Illinois. She was the daughter of Charles and Rosa (Knuth) Hoeft. Mabel was united in marriage to Irving Partridge on November 16, 1929 in St. James, and Earl Finstrom on December 17, 1959 in Sioux City, Iowa. She was a nanny for several years, and worked as a sales clerk at several department stores. Mabel raised her family in Sioux City, Iowa and moved to Lake Crystal in 1989. Mabel was an avid baseball fan.

Mabel is survived by her three daughters, Betty (Verlyn) Prestage of San Diego, CA, Lois Haarsma of Holland, MN, and Maxine Norman of Lake Crystal, MN; 16 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Irving in 1958 and Earl in 1969; son, Ronald in 1983; two sons-in-law, Willys Norman in 1986 and Raymond Haarsma in 2007; one granddaughter, Susan Smith in 2005; and three brothers and five sisters.
