Rosemary T. Groh, age 92, of Mankato, died Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.
Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 8, 2008 at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato, with Rev. Robert Schneider officiating. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until the service time at the church on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to VINE Faith in Action. Mankato Mortuary handled the arrangements.
Rosemary was born April 21, 1916 in Alton, Iowa. She was the daughter of Bart and Kate (Becker) Schneider. Rosemary was a graduate of Mankato High School and attended nurses training through the St. Peter Hospital. She was united in marriage to Harold Groh on September 12, 1940 in Mankato. Rosemary was a homemaker, worked as a nurse in Mankato, and assisted Harold for over 20 years with their business, Groh Nursery. She was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church and River of Life. She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Rosemary is survived by her two daughters, Jan Ito of Loveland, CO and Ann Rust of Greenwood, WI; twelve grandchildren, John (Lisa) Groh, Katherine (Nate) Pechacek, Steven Groh, Casey (Ben) Mueller, Carrie Swanson, James Groh, Kristen (Rick) Okray, Mark (Tami) Gardner, Sara (Jim) Ingold, Michael Ito, Todd Ito, and Julie Ito; 18 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Celia Haefner of Indiana, Chris (Clete) Tacheny of Mankato, Irene (Bob) Yenish of North Mankato, and Bernie (Gene) Kopachek of Eagle Lake; three sisters-in-law, Kitty Schneider of Mankato, Tilda Schneider of Madison Lake, and Grace Miller of Waterville; also nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold in 1999; son, Steven in 2003; and two brothers, Joe and Ed.
