Dorothy June Kimpton, age 86, of Mankato, died Sunday, November 2, 2008 at her home surrounded by her family.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday November 6, 2008 at Centenary United Methodist Church in Mankato with Rev. Dean Wolf officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Mankato. Visitation will be held from 5 " 8 p.m., Wednesday at Mankato Mortuary and one hour before the service at the church on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to ISJ Hospice Program.
Dorothy Kimpton was born on June 25, 1922 in Grand Meadow, Minnesota to Edward and Rose (Pierce) Hennegar. She was united in marriage to Albert Kimpton on February 6, 1940 in Estherville, Iowa. She worked as a cook for Franklin, Jefferson, and Lincoln schools in Mankato before retiring in 1982. Dorothy was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Mankato. She enjoyed spending time with family, embroidering, flowers, cards, square dancing and travel.
Dorothy is survived by two sons, Robert and (Victoria) Kimpton of New Prague, MN, Gerald (Susan) Kimpton of Lake Mary, FL; three daughters, Judith (Raymond) Almer of Dayton, NV, Patricia Schmidt of Blaine, MN, Carol (David) Nervina of Auburn, NY; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
Doroothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert in 2000; four sisters; and two brothers.
