Harvey John Krueger, age 83 of Mankato, died Saturday, December 18, 2010 at Central Health Care in Le Center, Minnesota.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Mankato with Pastor Jack Dahl officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday December 21, 2010 from 3 to 7 at Mankato Mortuary and continue one hour before service at the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
Harvey was born March 17, 1927 to Lawrence and Elsie (Meyer) Krueger in Mankato. He served in the United States Army from April of 1945 to November of 1946 with the US Occupational forces in Germany. He obtained his GED and worked for Old Dutch Foods as a Route Salesman for 27 years. Harvey was united in marriage to Magdalene (Lena) Abel on February 19, 1955 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in St. Peter. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, VFW, Disabled American Veterans, the Teamsters local 320 and the American Legion. Harvey enjoyed watching sports when he got a chance. He liked the Vikings, Twins, and the Timberwolves. Harvey also liked to socialize with friends in his Winkler Street neighborhood, where they lived for 52 years.
Harvey is survived by his wife, Magdalene (Lena) of Mankato; children, Janice (Gary) Brown of Waseca; Tom Krueger and special friend Kathy Parkinson of Iron Mountain, MI; Dave (Sue) Krueger of North Mankato; Jerome "Jerry" (Mary) Krueger of Kasota; grandchildren, Brian (Kim) Krueger, Adam (Jillian) Krueger, Erica (Joe) Tummers, Gina (Jeremiah) Voss, Tim Brown, Jeff Brown, Cassidy Krueger, Matthew Krueger; great-grandchildren, Sierra, Brandon, Dominic, Ally, Katelyn, Ladden and many nieces and nephews.
Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Elsie, brothers, Elmer and Earl, and sister, Lucille Rutjes.
