Darlean Elise Burt, age 64, of Mankato, died Saturday, December 18, 2010 at her home following a long illness.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 23, 2010 at Mankato Mortuary, with Chaplain Jacek Soroka officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the service at the mortuary on Thursday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Mankato. Memorials are preferred to MRCI, ISJ Hospice, or to the donor's choice.

Darlean was born on July 30, 1946 in Mankato. She was the daughter of Robert and Nadine (Kollmann) Brown. Darlean was baptized and confirmed at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Mankato. She was a 1964 graduate of Mankato High School. Darlean was united in marriage to Daniel Burt on July 11, 1964 in Mankato. She was employed for many years with Midtex and Crown Cork & Seal, retiring in 2003. Darlean was a supporter of MRCI and enjoyed reading, flower gardening, playing cards, mini-golfing, lawn-golfing, and time spent with her family especially her children and grandchildren.

Darlean is survived by her husband, Daniel; three children, Doreen (Daniel) Hage, Deborah Burt and her special friend, Jim Urban, and Dan "D.J." Burt Jr., all of Mankato; two grandchildren, Jeremy Hage and his special friend, Kaila Schneider and Jordan "George" Hage; one sister, Tinker (Roger) Tolle of Mankato; special family member, Debbie Childs-Berens and her family of Maryland; also several nieces, nephews, brothers- and sisters-in-law, other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Robert Brown.
