Harold F. Cords, a man of courage, wisdom, and devotion, passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 91 at Laurel's Peak in Mankato.
A Celebration of Harold's Life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 4, 2010 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Mankato. Visitation will be one hour before service at church on Saturday. A private interment will be held at St John's Ev. Lutheran Cemetery in St Clair. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Harold was born February 21, 1919 on a farm in rural Mankato, the second of 2 sons of George and Julia (Lamm) Cords. He began as a farmer on his parents land and later worked as a TV repairman for Meyer & Sons and finally as an instructor at the Mankato Technical College.
Harold lived his life with love, trust, and faith. He was a giver all of his life, a giver of his talents, his time, and his positive way of looking at all things.
He will be deeply missed.
Harold is survived by his wife, Louise, the love of his life for 71 years; three daughters and their spouses, Sharon Bateman (Daryl), Carole Hoel (David), and Mary L. Peterson (Charles); 7 grandchildren and their spouses, Mark Bateman (Natalie), Marsha Schmit (David), Eric Bateman (Kris), Craig Hoel (Nicole), Julie Korbel (Gordon), Jon Peterson (Mirandie), Nathan Peterson (Jen); 18 great grandchildren, Amanda, Jessica, Taylor, Nick, Andrew, Michael, Justin, Daron, Mahri, Madison, Mason, Talya, Braylon, Allison, Mitchell, Sean, Amanda, and Tristan; one great-great granddaughter, Arianna.
