Phyllis H. Veigel, age 94, of Mankato, died Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Hillcrest Health Care Center, Mankato.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 27, 2010 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Mankato. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Friday at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour before service at church on Saturday. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato.

Phyllis was born May 25, 1916 to Edward and Helen (Anderson) Paegel in Mankato. She was united in marriage to Thomas P. Veigel on November 20, 1941 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Phyllis was employed by ISJ Hospital for many years in the kitchen. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic and Catholic Aide. She enjoyed playing bingo, going out to eat, and word search books.

Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Betty (Dale) McShane of Waseca; grandson, Jason (Aubrey) McShane of Waseca; granddaughter, Tammy McShane of Mankato; two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Max; two sisters-in-law, Lorraine Purrier and Monica Paegel; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Delores; husband, Thomas, December 9, 1973; two brothers, Donald (Viola) Paegel and Gene Paegel.
