Kandyce Bryanna Stoffel, age 23, of North Mankato, died on Sunday, October 24, 2010 at the Hennepin County Medical Center as the result of a vehicle/pedestrian accident.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 29 at 1:00 p.m. at Christ the King Lutheran Church with Rev. John Peterson officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the church. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Kandyce was born on September 26, 1987 in Mankato to Kevin and Patty Stoffel. She was a 2006 graduate of Mankato West High School and earned a degree from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities College of Education in 2010. She was recently employed with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Kandyce was active in track and field and basketball in high school. She participated in the state high school track meet two consecutive years in long jump and triple jump. She was an assistant coach for track and field and basketball in various high schools while attending college. Kandyce received her real estate license and worked part time in real estate. She was very athletic and enjoyed swimming, playing tennis, boating, and fishing. Kandyce enjoyed spending time with her nephew "Beau Bear", as he was the light of her life. Her cousins were also very important in her life.

Kandyce is survived by her mother and stepfather, Patty & Randy Appel; father, Kevin Stoffel; sister, Karissa, brother-in-law, Christopher Baukol; nephew, Beau Baukol; three grandmothers, Marjorie Hoffman, Irene Stoffel, and Jeanette Appel; great-grandmother, Harriet Rehbein; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by three grandfathers, Wayne L. Hoffman, Jerome Stoffel, and Peter Appel Jr.; uncle, Jim Mulvihill; and aunt Becky Hasselmann. Memorials can be made to the Kandyce Stoffel Memorial Fund at United Prairie Bank, 3 Civic Center Plaza, Suite 100, Mankato, MN.

Her unforgettable laugh will be greatly missed.
