Ernest C. Fallenstein

Mankato, MN - Ernest Clifford Fallenstein, age 56, of Mankato, died Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at his home.

Memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Monday, October 17, 2005 at Mankato Mortuary. Family and friends will be gathering for a luncheon at Midtown Tavern, 524 North Riverfront Drive, following the memorial service. Visitation will be from 2-5 pm Sunday at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service on Monday.

Ernest was born on March 6, 1949 in St. Peter. He was the son of Benjamin and Lydia (Crosby) Fallenstein. Ernest was a 1967 graduate of Loyola High School in Mankato and a 1971 graduate of Winona State University. He was united in marriage to Patricia Cray on April 23, 1974 in Mankato. They later divorced. Ernest had been employed with Overhead Door Company for many years, and was with Johnson Outdoors Inc. for the last several years. His interests included history, watching television, visiting with family and friends, and in his younger days he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Ernest is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Caven of Mankato; two granddaughters, Katie and Samantha; one brother, Michael (Barb) Fallenstein; three sisters, Kathleen (Bernard) Hesse, Barb Friedrichs, Patrice (Robert) Johnson; brother-in-law, Jim Friedrichs; also nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
