Leona G Lloyd

Leona G. Lloyd, age 94, of Lake Crystal, died Sunday, September 25, 2005 at the Lake Crystal Health Care Center.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lake Crystal, with Rev. Neal Wilkinson S.J., officiating. Interment will be in Holy Family Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday (TODAY) at Lake Crystal Mortuary, with a 5 p.m. Prayer Service. Visitation continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.

Leona was born December 30, 1910 in Fenton, Iowa. She was the daughter of Christopher and Mary (Gappa) Hanson. Leona and her family moved to Lake Crystal, where she attended Linden Country School. Leona was united in marriage to Leslie A. Lloyd on August 31, 1932 in Madelia. She assisted her husband with their farm. Leona was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, where she was a past member and officer of the Womens Council. She also was part of the Neighborhood Birthday Club. Leonas favorite pastime was sewing for her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening, canning, and cooking.

Leona is survived by her two daughters and their husbands, Carol and Linus Krahling of Lake Crystal, Judy and Bob Schroeder of rural Lake Crystal; one son and his wife, Bill and Judy Lloyd of Austin; ten grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mae Kjos and her husband, Al of North Mankato, Mathilda Fanning of Sioux Falls, SD; also many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leslie in 1989; and one brother, Raymond Hanson Sr. in 2005.
