Much loved and cherished Bernice Irene Ikier, age 93, of North Mankato, died Saturday, September 24, 2005 at her home surrounded by her family.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Mankato with Rev. James H. Pragman officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park in Mankato. Visitation will be held from 4 " 7 p.m., Tuesday at Mankato Mortuary and one hour before services at the church on Wednesday. Memorials may be given to the Blue Earth/Nicollet County Humane Society.

Bernice was born April 24, 1912. Her parents were Carl O. Wilson and Annie Hanson Wilson of Lake Crystal. Bernice attended public school near Butternut and graduated from Lake Crystal High School. Bernice was employed as a telephone operator at Lake Crystal and later a receptionist at Carney Co. of Mankato. This is where she met Elmer K. Ikier. The two were married on September 7, 1946. During their 59 years of marriage, Bernice was a stay at home mom. She enjoyed her family, baking from scratch, knitting- sweaters, mittens, hats, scarfs, a green thumb, the outdoors " changing of the seasons, nature, all animals " pets and wildlife.

Survived by her husband, Elmer Ikier of North Mankato; two daughters, Joann Foster of New London, MN, Charri Ikier-Attenberger and husband, Richard of Kasota; one son Paul Ikier and wife, Cheryl of Fridley; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; nieces nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Clifford Wilson.
