Kathryn Gens

Kathryn Celeen Gens, age 65, of rural Good Thunder, died Friday, September 16, 2005 at Immanuel St. Josephs Hospital in Mankato.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 20, 2005 at Mankato Mortuary, with Rev. Dave Gens officiating. Interment will be in Decoria Cemetery, rural Mankato. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., Monday at Mankato Mortuary, and continues one hour prior to the service.

Kathryn was born February 23, 1940 in Rapidan Township, Blue Earth County. She was the daughter of Ervin and Irene (Egan) Ziegler. Kathryn was a 1958 graduate of Rapidan High School. She was united in marriage to Richard Gens on May 20, 1961 in Good Thunder. Kathryn was employed with Carlson Craft for twenty years. She enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, woodworking, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Kathryn is survived by her husband, Richard Gens of rural Good Thunder; one son, Jeff Gens and his wife, Dawn of Nicollet; two daughters, Vicky David and her husband, Tracy of Montgomery, and Jodi Hefner and her special friend, Rick Oachs of New Ulm; eleven grandchildren; mother, Irene Ziegler of Mankato; one sister, JoAnn Hoehn and her husband, William of rural Good Thunder; also many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ervin Ziegler.
