Frieda A. Malcomson, age 89 of Lake Crystal died Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at the Madelia Community Hospital.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 17, 2005 at Cambria Presbyterian Church with Rev. Penny Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Mankato. The visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday, September 16, 2005 at Lake Crystal Mortuary and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or an organization of the donors choice.

Frieda was born February 16, 1916 in Milnor, North Dakota to William F. and Augusta (Huhnholz) Adermann. Later moved to Mankato, MN, where she met and married Archie Malcomson on January 1, 1943. Frieda joined Archie in his automotive business in North Mankato and was active in rental and real estate business. She was a member of Eastern Star and White Shrine of Jerusalem which she enjoyed greatly. In 1965, she became High Priestess of the White Shrine and held many offices in Eastern Star.

Frieda was a member of Cambria Presbyterian Church, where she was nominated by the Minnesota Valleys Presbytery to receive the outstanding elderly Presbyterian award. She had also served as deacon and elder of the church. She received most of her education in the Mankato area. She and her husband purchased a farm in the Judson area in 1959, after the Highway Department purchased their North Mankato location for the State Highway. In 1982, Archie died and Frieda continued to live on the farm.

Survivors include a sister, Ruby Odegaard of Milnor, ND; brother, Lloyd Adermann and his wife, Leona of Gwinner, ND; nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins. Frieda was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers.
