Mankato, MN " Darlene Ruth Johnson, age 73, of Mankato, died from complications of atherosclerosis on Thursday, September 1, 2005 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Christ the King Lutheran Church with Pastor Donohue Sarff officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Mankato Mortuary and one hour before services at the church on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Christ the King Organ Fund.
Darlene was born September 11, 1931 in Fairmont to Herman R. and Gladys (Welchlin) Lavrence. She graduated from Fairmont High School in 1949. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Johnson on April 24, 1951 in Ozark, Alabama.
Darlene was an active member of Christ the King Lutheran Church and was involved with Bible Study Fellowship. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, baking, traveling and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Ken Johnson of Mankato; two daughters, Cyndy (Pete) Marso of Good Thunder, Kris (Joe) Schumacher of Eagle Lake; son, Mark (Gwenn) Johnson of Baudette; 10 grandchildren, Ryan, Katie, Laura, David, John, Daniel, Drew, Sara, Amy, and Carla; one great-grandson, Devon; two sisters-in-law, Doris (Bob) Nichols of Arizona, Marilyn Johnson of Mankato; nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant daughter.
