Janice N. Schneiter, age 81, of Mankato, died Wednesday, August 3, 2005 at Immanuel-St. Josephs Hospital in Mankato.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Grace Baptist Church in Mankato. Burial will be in Jerusalem Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday at Mankato Mortuary and one hour before services at the church on Saturday. Memorials are preferred to Jerusalem Cemetery.
Janice was born April 21, 1924 in Judson Township, Blue Earth County to Ivan and Ingebor (Solberg) Roberts. She graduated from Lake Crystal High School in 1942, where she had been class president. She later attended Kahler School of Nursing and received her RN degree. On June 21, 1946, she married George Schneiter at the home of Rev. Richard Owens in Judson.
Janice worked as an RN for Mayo Clinic in Rochester, various hospitals in California, and as a surgical nurse at Immanuel-St. Josephs Hospital in Mankato. She was an active member of Grace Baptist Church in Mankato, where she was involved with the Keenagers and Youth Groups. She enjoyed antiquing shows with George.
Survivors include her husband, George Schneiter of Mankato; brother, Richard and wife, Janet Roberts of Osakis; two sisters and their husbands, Constance and Carl Buhr of Rapidan, Georgia and Dr. Frank Carthey of New Ulm; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Marsha Kay.
