Myrtle E. Sargent, age 83, of Mankato died Friday, July 22, 2005 at her home.
Funeral service 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at Grace Baptist Church, Mankato with Rev. Gus Gonnerman officiating. Burial in the Meadville Cemetery, Meadville, Missouri at a later date. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday at Mankato Mortuary and continues one hour before services at church on Tuesday. Memorials may be given to Beauford Oak Hill Cemetery, Beauford, Mn.
Myrtle was born July 10, 1922 in Decoria Township, Blue Earth County to Claude and Mabel (Shaw) DeRemer. She was united in marriage to James Lawson on January 7, 1940 in Kansas City, Missouri. James died November 25, 1965. She married Harry Sargent on October 17, 1970 in Brookfield, Missouri. Harry died July 15, 1990. She was employed by the IGA grocery store in Brookfield, retiring in 1987. She moved to Mankato in 1993 from Meadville, Missouri. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church. Myrtle enjoyed gardening, cooking, and sewing.
Myrtle is survived by three sisters, Florence Ellis of Pine Island, Marian Schubbe and husband, Leonard of Mapleton, Lucille Oman and husband, Vern of Mankato; brother, Laurence DeRemer of Mapleton; three nephews; three nieces; and many great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Larry Sargent and his two children, Mike Sargent and wife, Kathy and Paula Fairchild and husband, Tony all of Meadville, Missouri.
