Emily Anderson, age 90, of Lake Crystal, died on Monday, October 27, 2008 at the Mankato House Health Care Center.
A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 31, 2008 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Butternut. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Stockholm, SD. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. on Thursday at Lake Crystal Mortuary, and continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
Emily was born on November 12, 1917 in Stockholm, SD. She was the daughter of Chris & Ellen (Nordquist) Mors. Emily was united in marriage to George M. Anderson on June 15, 1939 in Stockholm, SD. She was employed as a school teacher in rural Grant Co., rural Codington Co., and Volga, SD. She was a former resident of Stockholm, Watertown, Brookings, SD, and Lake Crystal. Emily was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Butternut. Emily had many interests, but she especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Emily is survived by her two daughters, Phyllis (Gregory) Collier of Shakopee; Marilyn (Kermit) Hansen of Lake Crystal; four grandchildren, Kevin (Jane) Collier of Virginia Beach, VA; Scott (Laura) Collier of Edina; Kristine (Greg) Wammer of Minneapolis; Todd Hansen of Minneapolis; seven great-grandchildren, Sarah, Andrew, Catherine, Adelaide Claire, William, Emily, Lukas; one brother, Andrew Mors of Ortonville; one sister, Esther Ennis of San Antonio, TX; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, John; Paul; infant David, two sisters, Marian Anderson and Elsie Anderson.
