Lyle Earl Loe, age 86, of North Mankato, went to his home in Heaven on Friday, October 24, 2008 at the Benedictine Living Community of St. Peter due to cancer.
A celebration of his life will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in North Mankato. Burial will be in Kerns Oak Grove Cemetery in Belgrade Township. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Monday at Mankato Mortuary, and continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Memorials are preferred to St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church or ISJ Hospice.
Lyle was born on April 30, 1922 in Rapidan Township, Blue Earth County. He was the son of Louis and Inez (Mullen) Loe. Lyle was united in marriage to Ruth Bauer on December 20, 1942 in North Mankato. He was employed for seventeen years with Truth Tool Co. in Mankato and retired from MICO Corp. in 1987. A man of strong faith, Lyle was a longtime member of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church. He enjoyed gardening and yard work, fishing, and spending time at their lake home and with his family.
Lyle is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ruth of North Mankato; daughter, Linda (Wally) Wolff of Madison Lake; son, Timothy (Gloria) Loe of North Mankato; four grandchildren, Molly (Grant) Robertson, Joe (Staci) Grommersch, Jason (Kari) Loe, and Mike Loe; six great-grandchildren, Kirsten, Katelyn, Caleb, Mitchell, Izabel, and Jack; one sister, Laurel Fitterer of Mankato; one sister-in-law, Glenna Loe of North Mankato; also nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Kenneth and Charles.
