Edmund E. Schwichtenberg, age 75 of Mapleton, died Thursday, October 16, 2008 at Immanuel- St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at Mankato Mortuary with Chaplain Jacek Saroka officiating. Burial will be in Beauford Morrow Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour before the service on Tuesday. Memorials are welcome.
Edmund E. Schwichtenberg was born September 5, 1933 to John and Veronica (Birr) Schwichtenberg in rural Mapleton. He was a lifetime farmer in the Mapleton area and also worked as a truck driver for Central Bi-Products. He was a member of the farmers union. Ed enjoyed working on the farm and helping his family.
Ed is survived by his two brothers, Raymond Schwichtenberg, Royal Schwichtenberg; sister Marie McDonald; sister-in-law, Lee Schwichtenberg all of Mapleton; nieces and nephews, Tony Schwichtenberg, Robin (Michael) Alton, Randy Schwichtenberg, Vicki (Bill) Abdo, Eric (Lisa) Schwichtenberg, and many other nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Oscar, Bill, Jack, Ralph, Jay; two sisters, Lenora, Louise, and infant Veronica.
