Marilyn E Barnard

Marilyn Evelyn Barnard, age 76, of Good Thunder, died Saturday, October 11, 2008 at Immanuel-St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at Mankato Mortuary, with Pastor Rudy Maurer officiating. Burial will be in Barnard Valley View Cemetery in rural Good Thunder. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Mankato Mortuary, and continues one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Barnard Valley View Cemetery, or ISJ Hospice.

Marilyn was born on August 11, 1932 in Winona to Leo and Emma (Lang) Kilian. She graduated from Winona High School in 1950. Marilyn was united in marriage to Charles "Bud" Barnard on November 14, 1959 at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in North Mankato.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, Bud of Good Thunder; two sons, Michael (Kim) Barnard of Winnebago and Grant (Linda) Barnard of Lake Crystal; four grandsons, Sean Barnard, Joshua Barnard, Tyler Barnard, and Jessen Hill; mother, Emma Kilian of North Mankato; two sisters, Karen Slipy of Mankato and Linda (Kenneth) Groth of Roseville; one brother, Steven (Janet) Kilian of Hutchinson; one sister-in-law, Phyllis Swanson of Excelsior; also many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father and her parents-in-law.
