Richard L. Pearce, age 78 of Mankato, died Thursday, October 9, 2008 at Autumn Grace Health Care Center in Mankato.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 13, 2008 at Belgrade United Methodist Church in North Mankato with Rev. Bart Fletcher officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Calvary Cemetery in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Visitation will be held one hour before the service on Monday at the church. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Dick was born November 2, 1929 to Charles and Mildred (Boltz) Pearce in Frazee, Minnesota. He graduated from Crookson High School. Dick was united in marriage to Mary Walters on January 6, 1949 in East Grand Forks, Minnesota. Mary later died on February 16, 1989. Dick remarried on September 24, 1993 to Connie Nichols in North Mankato. He was employed with NSP and retired in 1989. Dick was a member of Belgrade United Methodist Church in North Mankato.
Dick enjoyed bowling, fishing, riding his bike, card games, and traveling and spending winters in Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Connie of Mankato; two sons, Daryl (Teresa) Pearce of Las Cruces, NM; Kent (Marcie) Pearce of Madison Lake, MN; daughter, Cindy (Jon) Baumgard of Avon, MN; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two step-children, Shari Possien of Front Royal, VA, Gary Nichols of Tampa, FL; step-grandson; brother, John (Gayle) Pearce of McIntosh, MN; nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his first wife; sisters, Nancy, Dina, and Barbara; brother, Charles William; niece, Nancy.
