Mary Elizabeth Glaubitz, age 85, of Lake Crystal and formerly of the Garden City area died Sunday, September 21, 2008 at her residence in Lake Crystal.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake Crystal with Vicar Robert Lund officiating. Burial will be in Garden City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Lake Crystal Mortuary with a 7 p.m. prayer service. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to American Diabetes Association, ISJ Hospice Program, or to an organization of the donor's choice.

Mary was born December 8, 1922 in Blue Earth County to Harry and Mary Ruth (Myers) Butson. She was a graduate of Garden City High School. On June 6, 1945, she was united in marriage to Merton E. Glaublitz. She was a homemaker for her family.

Mary was a former member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Vernon Center and a current member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake Crystal. She assisted with the Preschool Education Program in Rapidan and Vernon Center. She was a charter member of the Mother's Club and was active with the card club and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 297 in Lake Crystal. She enjoyed reading, ceramic painting, playing Sequence, but her heart's love was that of her family.

Mary is survived by her loving family, Ronda Jean Bergemann of Lake Crystal, MaryLee (Lee) Corey of Vernon Center, Scott M. (LuAnn) Glaubitz of Melbourne, FL, Ginny Marie (Don) Rasmussen of Lakeville; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 2 anticipated great-grandchildren; sister, Mildred Young of Madison, MN; brother, Dale "Pete" (IvaLea) Butson of Lake Crystal; many nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Merton in 1984; six brothers, Rodney, Lee, James, Earl, John, and Robert; four sisters, Ruth, Verna, Erma, and Beulah; son-in-law, Erich Bergemann; and granddaughter, Tara Fredericksen.
