Henry Wilmes Jr.

Henry T. Wilmes, age 81 of Madison Lake, died Sunday, September 21, 2008 at Oaklawn Health Care Center in Mankato.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at All Saints Catholic Church in Madison Lake with Rev. Robert Schneider officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Madison Lake. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to All Saints Catholic School. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Henry Wilmes was born October 15, 1926 to Henry J. and Frances (Koll) Wilmes in Mankato. He attended Madison Lake Grade School. Henry served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict in the Field Artillery. He returned to Madison Lake and worked as a mechanic for Wirig Ford and later with his brother Harold they owned and operated Wilmes Brothers Repair for 22 years before retiring in 1988.

Henry was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Madison. He enjoyed his Lincoln Town Car and coffee with friends.

He is survived by one sister-in-law, Lila Wilmes of Kasota; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, five brothers including his twin brother, Harold who died on April 19, 1999.
