Lloyd E Swenson

Lloyd E. Swenson, age 70, of Mankato, died Tuesday, September 16, 2008, at his home in Mankato.

Memorial service will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, September 20, 2008, at St. Lambert's Parish followed by a light luncheon. Burial will follow the luncheon at St. Mary's Dell Rapids Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the family to be used in honor of Lloyd. Any flowers to be given can be delivered to St. Lambert's Parish, 1000 S. Bahnson Ave. Sioux Falls, SD 57103. Mankato Mortuary is assisting with arrangements.

Lloyd Edward was born September 27, 1937 to Myron and Kathryn (Kennedy) Swenson in Hartford, South Dakota. He attended Sioux Falls College in Sioux Falls, SD. On August 26, 1967, Lloyd was united in marriage to Arlene Munson. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus in Mankato, MN. Lloyd was also a member of St. Lambert's Parish in South Dakota. He loved farming, reading, traveling, and visiting with his friends and family.

Lloyd is survived by his wife, Arlene; 2 daughters: Mary Swenson and Jackie Tate; 2 brothers: Ronald Swenson and Bill Birdsell; and 1 sister, Elizabeth (Max) Corey.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister, Deborah Birdsell.
