Richard Lees Jaax, age 59 of St. Peter and formerly of Mankato died Saturday, September 13, 2008 at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Peter. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Mankato. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to LEEP, MRCI, or HSI.
Richard was born on June 3, 1949 in Mankato to Waldo and Jean (Gilbert) Jaax. He enjoyed his work through MRCI, its staff and co-workers, and also activities with LEEP and travel experiences with Search Beyond Adventures. Richard also enjoyed bowling, T-ball, meeting people, and all forms of music whether it was singing, dancing, or playing guitar and organ. He will be deeply missed by his family at HSI and his many friends.
Richard is survived by his brothers, Wally (Shelley) Jaax of Bloomington and Tom (Marian Carr) Jaax of Minneapolis; niece, Rebecca (Rick) Lang of Eden Prairie; nephew, Eric Jaax of St. Louis Park; aunt, Mae Louise Recktenwald of Walnut Creek, CA; and also cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
