Erwin E Preuss

Erwin Edward Preuss, age 93, of Mankato, died September 4, 2008 at Oaklawn Health Care Center in Mankato.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 8, 2008 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul Lauer officiating. Burial will be at Woodland Hills Memorial Park in Mankato. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Monday at the church. Mankato Mortuary assisted with the arrangements. Memorials may be made to VINE Faith in Action.

Erwin was born July 20, 1915 to Edward and Hulda (Kastner) Preuss in Rapidan, MN. In 1935, he graduated from the Rapidan High School. He served his country in the United States Army from August 1942 until his honorable discharge in August of 1943. Erwin was united in marriage to Mabel Becker on October 10, 1948 in Mankato. He started working at Landkamer Furniture Store and later worked for Brett's Department Store where he retired. Since 1950, he was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Erwin loved woodworking, traveling, and his coffee groups.

Erwin is survived by his three brothers-in-law: Arthur Matzke of Mankato, Raymond Ulrich of rural Mankato, and Erwin Becker of Tustin, CA; one sister-in-law, Loretta Becker of Olivia; and many nieces and nephews.

Erwin was preceded in death by his wife Mabel on June 6, 2008, his parents, and his three sisters: Irma Ulrich, Myrtle Blume, and Esther Matzke.
