Harold P. Rekedal, age 89, of Eagle Lake, died Saturday, August 23, 2008 at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.
A private family graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2008 at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Harold Palmer was born October 13, 1918 to Simon and Hilda (Dahl) Rekedal in Granite Rock Township, Redwood County, MN. He was united in marriage to Delores Lehne on January 20, 1952 in Redwood County. Harold was a member of the American Legion. He loved to farm, mow the lawn, and bird watching. Harold loved to tinker with his cars and machinery.
Harold is survived by his wife, Delores of Eagle Lake, MN; 5 children: Gail (Bob) Chamberlain of Colorado Springs, CO, Wendy Rekedal of Eagle Lake, MN, Patsy (Rick) Seys of Mankato, MN, Michael Rekedal of Eugene, OR, and Jay (Claudett) Rekedal of Madelia, MN; 10 grandchildren: Jeffrey and Cody Chamberlain, Quinn and Ryan Seys, Kyle and Danielle Rekedal, and Joshua, Jared, John, and Jakob Rekedal; 2 sisters: Helma Hansvick and Jeanelle Beskin; and many nieces and nephews.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters: Ruth, Ella, and Bertha; and 3 brothers: Melvin, Eli, and Ralph.
