Gladys M. Ballard, age 81 of Mankato died Saturday, July 09, 2005, at Immanuel-St. Josephs Hospital, Mankato.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Decoria Township (rural Good Thunder) with Rev. William Meiers officiating. Burial in Decoria Cemetery. Visitation on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at Mankato Mortuary and one hour before services at church on Wednesday.
Gladys was born April 23, 1924 in Butternut Valley Township, Blue Earth Co. to Harry and Eunice (Roberts) Evenson. She was united in marriage to Floyd Willis Ballard on June 21, 1944 in Mankato. Gladys lived on a farm in Decoria Township for 49 years, moving into Mankato in August of 1993. She had sold Avon Products for over 20 years. Gladys had been a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church since the fall of 1944. She enjoyed flowers, birds, movies, crocheting, card playing, watching her family grow and going out to eat with friends.
Gladys is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Sharon and Harold Kullot of Eyota, Rosemary and Phillip Kunkel of St. Cloud; six grandchildren, Julie (Gary) Bierbaum, Donald (Dawn) Kullot, Kristine (Dirk) Bierbaum, Darin (Angela) Kullot, Matthew and Amy Kunkel; eight great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Roland Midgley of Bertrum.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1986 and a sister-in-law Shirley Midgley.
