Bernice Monroe

Bernice E. Monroe, age 91 of Lake Crystal died Thursday, July 7, 2005 at the Lake Crystal Health Care Center in Lake Crystal.

Funeral service 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church in Lake Crystal with Rev. Randal Lubbers officiating. Burial in the Lake Crystal Cemetery. Visitation is one hour before services at the church on Monday. Lake Crystal Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Bernice was born February 18, 1914 in Blue Earth Co. to Edward and Rebecca (Jones) Williams. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Monroe September 17, 1943 in Lake Crystal. Kenneth died in Oct. 1999. Bernice was a lifetime resident of Lake Crystal. She was a homemaker and member of the First Presbyterian Church, Lake Crystal. She enjoyed sewing and crafts.

Bernice is survived by her twin sons, Stanley Monroe of Lake Crystal, Sterling Monroe and his wife, Sheila of Castle Rock, CO; three grandchildren, Lisa Uhland and husband, David of Kiowa, CO, Marci Mackey and husband, Todd of Kiowa, CO, Jason Monroe and wife, Traci of Castle Rock, CO; eight great-grandchildren, Katie, Tanner, Jason, Gracie and Zadie Mackey, Joshua Uhland, Temma and Tucker Monroe; a sister, Edythe Leas and husband, John of North Mankato; nephews, nieces and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, and a sister, Mabel Kittleson; five brothers, Ray, Lee, Merle, Mayo and Burton Williams.
