Linda Sophie (Besonen) Zyskowski, age 87 entered her heavenly home on Saturday, June 25, 2005, at the St. Peter Health Care Center, St. Peter, MN. She joined her beloved husband, John, who passed away on April 18, 2005.
A service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 30, 2005 at the Langenberg Funeral Home, Iron River, MI, with Pastors Kent Angeloff and Phil Kolenda officiating. Visitation and viewing will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at the Resthaven Cemetery, Iron River, MI. Memorials are preferred to the Iron River Assembly of God Church of which Linda was a member or to the St. Peter Health Care Centers Activities Fund. The staff at the health care center have been ministering angels to John and Linda. Their care and compassionate love have been exceptional.
Linda was born May 7, 1918 in South Range, MI, to Alexander and Amanda (Wayrynen) Zyskowski. She attended Trout Creek Schools. John and Linda were married in Chicago, IL on December 24, 1939. They moved back to Iron River, where John worked for M.A. Hanna Co. as an iron miner. After retirement, they wintered in Florida for many years. Lindas gift and passion was cooking and serving beautiful meals. Her comment was always, What am I going to do with all this food? You havent eaten anything.
Linda is survived by her three children, Gerald James (Marilyn) Zyskowski of North Mankato, Daniel Zyskowski of Iron River, MI, Carol (James) Coleman of Shrewsbury, MA; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Kristen) Zyskowski of Maple Grove, MN, Christy (Kevin) Schmidt of Antigo, WI, Lisa Zyskowski of Antigo, WI, Julie (Jon) Conner of Mankato, MN, James T. Coleman of Shrewsbury, MA, and Debra (Jim) Francois of Tomahawk, WI, great-grandchildren, Ryan and Katie Zyskowski, Cody and Jacob Schmidt, Brandon and Tyler Wild, Alysson Schaal and Zachary Mildenberger; three sisters, Elvira Swanson, Aileen Nelson and Lillian Jenewein; nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandchildren, Bryan Zyskowski, John and Rhonda Coleman, four brothers, Alex, Eino, Reuben and Edward Besonen, and three sisters, Hilja Niemi, Ina Peterson and Marion Wagner.
