Myrna Walrath, age 89, of North Mankato passed away Thursday, June 16, 2005 at Oaklawn Health Center in Mankato.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday at Mankato Mortuary with Pastor John Michel officiating. Burial will be in Minneopa Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Monday. Memorials are preferred to the Residents Fund of Oaklawn Health Care Center, Mankato, in honor of her many friends there.
Myrna was born August 9, 191 5 in North Mankato to Hugh W. and Ethel (Bartlett) Crane. She attended North Mankato and Rapidan schools. She was united in marriage to Howard E. Walrath on June 6, 1936 at Bethel Baptist Church in Mankato. They resided in the Mankato area their entire lives. Myrna will always be remembered for her enjoyment of people, always eager to have a cup of coffee, visit and laugh. She also loved mystery novels, crossword puzzles, crocheting, Elvis and Nick At Nite TV, especially The Munsters .
She leaves behind one son, Stan (Cindi) Walrath of North Mankato; one daughter, Karen Takle of North Mankato; one brother, Melvin Crane Sr. of Mankato; five grandchildren, Torrey (Heather Lynch), Amy and Bethany Walrath of North Mankato, Brian (Sue) Takle of Chippewa Falls, WI, and Jeff Takle of Boston, MA, two great-grandchildren, Zoe and Mercutio Takle and many well-loved nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, Ardella, her parents, one brother, William Crane, and one sister, Irene (Crane) Moses.
