Enid Smale

Enid Eileen Smale, age 87, of Mankato, died Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at Oaklawn Health Care Center in Mankato.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 13, 2005 at Mankato Mortuary, with Rev. Albert H. Thompson III officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery in Sheldon, IA. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the mortuary. Memorials may be given to the Minnesota State University " Mankato Scholarship Foundation.

Enid was born on May 9, 1918 in Sheldon, IA. She was the daughter of Edgar and Olive (Wyckoff) Smale. Enid was a 1936 graduate of Sheldon High School. She earned her B.A. degree in 1941, and her M.A. degree in Business Education in 1949, both at the University of Iowa. She taught business education at the high school and college levels in several states. She completed her career at Mankato State University, retiring in 1982. Enid was a member of First Congregational U.C.C. in Mankato and also of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society for women educators. She enjoyed traveling and attending dramas and musical concerts.

Enid is survived by good friends who will miss her smile and companionship. She was preceded in death by her parents.
