Ann was born June 12, 1967 in Mankato to Rene Fritz and Rhea (Horswell) Maes, Sr. Ann graduated from Mankato East High School in 1985 and Northwestern College in Orange City, IA with a B.A. in Music Education. Ann received her masters degree in Music Education from Queens College, New York, NY. She was united in marriage to Kevin Bachman on June 26, 1990 and they divorced in 2003.
As a child, Ann always wanted to live in New York. She lived several years in Virginia and then went on to fulfill her dreams of living and teaching in New York. Rhea and Rene attended many concerts through out the years and were able to see Ann direct many wonderful choirs. Anns desire to share her love of music extended in taking her choirs to nursing homes and hospitals and to wherever she could bring joy through her music.
Ann taught high school choirs in several Long Island cities, and her current position was instructing music and the high school choir at the Hicksville High School. Ann also taught gifted childrens choirs at Queens College in New York City, New York as well as teaching private music lessons in her home.
Anns life long interest was music of all sorts. Her greatest love of music was music of the Lord. While attending Northwestern College, Anns thesis was completed with the extensive study of liturgical music. Ann sang for many special Maes' family occasions and all enjoyed her music.
Ann loved to spend time with her parents, family, and friends and shared another one of her many talents of cooking chef style with many wonderful gourmet meals prepared by Ann for all to enjoy.
Anns genuine love for her family and friends, her lighthearted spirit, and her joyous laughter she shared, will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to have known Ann.
