William Bill A. Pierce, age 72 of Eagle Lake died Tuesday, May 24, 2005 at Mankato House Health Care Center in Mankato.
Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Saturday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, with Rev. Don Rauscher, S.J. officiating. Interment with military honors in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato. Visitation on Friday from 4-7 p.m. at Mankato Mortuary, with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation continues on Saturday one hour before services at the church.
Bill was born November 30, 1932 in Kilkenny, MN to Myron and Hilda (Lingsweiler) Pierce. He graduated from Mankato High School in 1951. Bill served in the U. S. Army from 1952-1955 and had been stationed in Korea. He was united in marriage to Donna Wiles on August 13, 1955 in Pittsburgh, PA.
He was a n employee of Pierce Enterprises of Eagle Lake for over 20 years. He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and was a life member of American Legion Post #617 of Eagle Lake and V.F.W. Post #950 of Mankato and was also a member of the Red Men Club of St. Peter. He enjoyed fishing and watching the Minnesota Twins.
Mr. Pierce is survived by a son and his wife, Douglas and Carol Pierce of Bethel Park, PA; two granddaughters, Rachael and Victoria; two brothers and their wives; Jerry and Ruth Pierce of Brownsville, TX, Bob and Marilyn Pierce of North Mankato; two sisters, Lorraine Southwick and her husband, Wayne of Mankato, Bernie Krengel of Austin; nephews, nieces and cousins.
